Notification Preferences

Real-time Browser Notification Preferences

Notification Events

Within Capacity, we currently provide browser notifications for several key events within our Helpdesk and SMS Inbox. These will only trigger if you have configured your notification settings within Capacity and the browser. The notifications will only be displayed if you have an open tab in your browser with the Capacity app loaded. The tab does not have to be active to receive notifications.

We trigger two types of browser notifications:

  1. Browser tray notification - While each browser displays these differently, these notifications will temporarily pop up at the bottom right of your computer screen. They can then be referenced in your browser's notification tray.
  2. Browser tab notification - This will show up in your browser tab. You will see the tab content blink with a dot indicator and a count of the notifications that are unread. This will be dismissed when you visit either the Helpdesk or SMS Inbox page to view the notifications.

Helpdesk Events

Notifications will be sent for the following:

  • When a ticket is assigned to you as the logged in user
  • When there has been a new reply to a ticket that is assigned to you

SMS Inbox Events

Notifications will be sent for the following:

  • When a new SMS conversation is created on a line you have access to
  • When a new reply comes in on a conversation that is assigned to you

Managing Notification Preferences

Depending on what features your user has access to within Capacity, you will have the option to adjust your notification preferences. To do so, click on your profile image in the top right corner of the application to access your profile page. Click on the Profile & Account page.

At the bottom of this page, there is a section for Notification Preferences that allows you to enable notifications and then specify the settings per product you have permissions to use.
